Occasionally it is important to differentiate between certain words or concepts. In this week’s Tip, I want to share something that has taken me almost a lifetime to learn. As a matter of fact, I still have not completely mastered it, but I am further down the road than I once was. The subject I want to discuss is the difference between a grownup and an adult.
It is sometimes easy to become confused about this issue when we see someone who is chronologically an adult. When we look at a baby or a child, it is easy to recognize them as such. And, most of us are able to identify a teenager when we see one. However, just because someone has reached adulthood does not necessarily mean that they are a grownup. Tip: Think Ahead!

As most of you know, I do a lot of public speaking. I recently sat down and tried to determine approximately how many different talks I have done in my lifetime. Conservatively speaking, I have done over 30,000 talks. By any stretch of the imagination, that is a lot of talking! I have learned a great deal about audiences and how to keep them interested in my topic. I have learned to be animated and use humor to keep my audience engaged while I am speaking. However, even though I have learned many techniques over the years, I must admit that I have occasionally been caught off guard by some unexpected occurrence. I believe those learning experiences have served to make me a better speaker and communicator. One such incident completely blew my mind!
When I speak, I like to use a handout because I have discovered that it helps the audience to follow along with me better. And, I have noticed that audiences enjoy having some notes to refer to when they get home. But, on one particular occasion, I realized that even though I may have the best handout in the world for my audience, it still might not work. Read the rest of this entry »

Worried that you’re hurting the environment by producing too much trash? Instead of letting the TV make you feel guilty all the time, try DOING something about it:
- No soda in cans.
- No water in plastic bottles.
- No coffee in disposable cups.
- No throwaway plastic razors and blade cartridges.
- Using non-disposable feminine-hygiene products that aren’t bad for women and are good for the planet.
- No Indian food in throwaway takeout tubs.

Alex Jones, nationally syndicated talk radio host, documentary film-maker has started another campaign to get the people of the USA to act called “V for Victory Resistance Campaign.”
I like the idea of this campaign because it is trying to cause everyone to act in the Right during a time when people are so content to do nothing when government is acting in the Wrong. The problem I have with the posters is that when you remove the URL to infowars.com the message does not stand on it’s own. You need to visit infowars to get the rest of the information that supports the story.
I am a fan of infowars and I think people should be reading the news that’s posted there, however, if the campaign really wants to cause people to act it should be planting seeds into every viewer of the poster, regardless of the websites they visit. You should be showing the V sign because you want Victory, Freedom and everything it represents – not because someone told you to.
That’s why I took some time this afternoon to remix the posters. They look very much the same as what Infowars has created. I changed the text, removed the website address and added a circle to the background, to pay homage to “V is for Vendetta.”
There are certain basic tenets of optimal health that have always remained permanent truths, and by consistently adhering to them, you give yourself the best chance at a long and healthy life.

I found a page on facebook called StopTheNWOProfileBanner so I checked it out. The page has a link to a URL that wasn’t working at the time and I really wanted to take a look. Since I could not see it as intended I tried to recreate it by downloading the images from the fb page instead. In the process I decided to go ahead and customize it. When I was done I thought others might want to use it as an alternative and so I filmed the instructions on how I customized my fb profile.
